How To Enable The Reading Pane In Gmail

Adding a reading pane or preview pane to Gmail (similar to the default view in Microsoft Outlook) is actually super easy!

Having a reading pane allows you to more easily preview your emails from a single page, without having to open each email individually which is the default gmail setting.

Check out the GIF we have created above to see how easy it is to switch between reading pane mods in Gmail!

Follow These Steps To Enable The Reading Pane in Gmail:

  1. Open Gmail in a new browser tab or window
  2. At the top right hand corner, click on the small gear icon to open the settings menu
  3. Next, scroll down to the section titled “Reading Pane”
  4. Select a reading pane option to enable it, the change should be instant!
